Interesting -- orchids (especially the big, showy ones -- cattleya?) seem more Servalan's style
The only place I remember reading about cattleya is that bit in Proust where 'do a cattleya' becomes Swann and Odette's private language for 'make love'.
Now I have got this ludicrous mental image of Jarriere entreating Servie to 'do a cattleya'.
