Thanks. This is where threads like this can cause a problem, and why I got pissed off about it when I came back after several days to read several posts about "editors should..." It can rapidly turn from "This person persistently does this and it's getting bloody annoying" to a general impression of "Anyone who does this ever is a scumbag and unworthy to do the job." This can happen even though nobody actually meant that - it's the cumulative effect.
No, I wouldn't submit to an editor with that policy, either. Although I'm starting to wonder about the one with the A and B avatars that I submitted to a pro publisher nearly two years ago...
