Sally asked:
how fast *is* 'standard' speed?
My problem with 'standard' speed is the way it seemed to be defined originally. In Cygnus Alpha, Zen asks the new crew to state speed and course. Blake then looks to Jenna for advice, and Jenna hazards "Standard?". Blake says "Standard speed" to Zen, which Zen accepts.
Now, if this means they travel at the Liberator's average/usual speed, how do they then do "standard by ten"? If the standard speed of my car is, lets say, 60kph, then at standard by ten I could be doing 600kph (more, if it's geometric)!
On the other hand, perhaps 'standard' refers to some kind of constant, like the speed of light.
