Can't say you're wrong (who knows what stray neurons were firing in back of someone's brain twenty years ago?) but some other possibilities:
Zen = ZENITH - Zen was the computer in charge of the ZENITH of
reference to Zen Buddhism -- serenity, lack of emotional involvement.
Dayna = Dangerous - Dangerous to the male eye but more dangerous with a weapon.
