This feels unduly restrictive to me. Those of us without any lit crit background might feel more comfortable operating without the rules/ideology of literary criticism. It doesn't necessarily mean we're stupid. Surely we can all co-exist on the same Lyst?

No, that's called discussion or even debate.
If someone posts pure opinion, unbacked up with fact or argument, then everyone else is entitled to ignore them.
