Nope, I like them too; I know some people find the heartbeat annoying, but
it suits the whole feel of the place in some way, and the sphere is really
rather good.

Yes, it's all wonderfully bleak and harsh, rather like Avon by that point.

The Moriatries were all given/used the same names specifically to confuse the authorities (this 'has happened' to my knowledge)
BTW in the Middle Ages one reason why children in a family might be given the same name was because they had a godparent of that name. So if you had John Gummer, John Smith etc as respective godfathers you would have several Johns in the family.

What are the imaginary cheeses?

[View More]Very atmospheric, especially
with the late-autumn, early-winter look of the place.
I must be taken in by certain types of visuals: To me now (many years after
the premiere), the best part of "The Empire Strikes Back" is the stunning
look of the sky surrounding Cloud City.

Ah, but the Holmes stories were written over a period of 40 years, I
think, and it wasn't something Conan Doyle was particularly enthused
about. It's still amusing though, that a set of stories about a

So, if Vila's Bilbo, does that make Gan Gandalf? Compare -
Gan dies in an enemy stronghold (although not the BIG enemy stronghold)
while helping the others escape while they are being pursued by hordes of
evil bad guys.
Gandalf dies in an enemy stronghold (although not the BIG enemy
stronghold) while helping the others escape while they are being pursued

Other than that, it wouldn't surprise me to learn Gan enjoyed smoking. I
guess this suggests whoever put the …
[View More]limiter in him was Saruman.
It seems that the chronology was a bit messed up. While I suppose I just
forgot Travis screaming, "Precious!" as he fell down the conveniently
located pit, Boromir/Faramir (Tarrant) hadn't even shown up yet.
I suppose Soolin's real name is Eowyn and that she has a brother alive
somewhere.
With her bow, Dayna seems more like Legolas. OTOH, she has a lot in
common with Thrain out for revenge in Moria. Maybe she wandered in from
the Appendix?
Since Auronar are evidently some type of elf, I suppose that makes Cally
Arwen unless she's Galadriel (the Thaarn was sort of a dwarf who fell in
love with her, after all).
Avon is Aragorn (I suppose he has the coloring for it).
Blake is either Frodo (which makes Deva Sam) or, getting a bit too much
of a negative view of everything that helps lead to his destruction, he's
Denethor.
I think this makes Orac a palantir.
But, this finally resolves how they survived GP.
The eagles are coming! The eagles are coming!

Now, I'm wondering what would happen if Vargas was switched with
Jarriere.
Jarriere: Welcome to Cygnus Alpha. Despite the Spartan surroundings, we
hope we can make your stay here a pleasant one. Please note that all
long term residents are required to join in the dayly worship services
which are spent in adoration of the Great White Gowned One, the Wanderer
of Various Wastelands in High Heels, the Supreme One Herself, Servalan!
Blake: I think I'm going to be sick.
Jarriere: It's funny you …
[View More]should mention that. Nearly everyone here has
the same problem. But don't worry, antacids are served at all the
worship services! I whip them up myself. I'm a medical genius, don't
you know.
