Kaldor City available

A lot of people have been asking me when Kaldor City will be available. You can order the first Kaldor City CD, Occams Razor, now on http://www.hermit.org/Blakes7 for 10 pounds including postage to the UK (slightly more to other countries). The Kaldor City CDs all use the same setting, but they are not a series. It won't be essential to listen to all of them to follow a continuing story. Each CD will be complete in itself. Paul Darrow plays the cunning Kaston Iago and for those who can make it to 10th planet in Barking (London) tomorrow (Saturday) you can get a copy signed by him in person. Christmas and other gifts There might well be different categories of shops, as happened in certain of the then Communist countries - those for 'the masses' and those for the 'ruling classes.' In the former an endless collection of equivalents of 'Lenin hailing a bus', 'cheap and cheerful' goods, and failed kitsch, in the latter things we would class as semi- or actual luxuries (which may still be kitsch - herculanium-plated statues of 'Lenin catching a bus.') In these shops discretion would apply ('Remember Fred, the general's wife does not know that her lover is having an affair with the general's second mistress') Considering the number of people who don't recognise Blake et al, the group might well have some leeway. (alternatively imagine the various shops going in for 'name drop, name drop' marketing 'Whoever gets the most 'wanted by the Federation' people on their scorecard gets 10% off their bill...') 'Christmas Cracker boxes' come in various price ranges, from '10 second self-destruct paper hats' and 'bits of plastic' to 'expensive watches and silver pencils.' Soolin's survival

If Soolin survived the initial massacre at GP, she might be able to just walk away from it all. I don't remember if she'd ever been officially connected with Avon and the others as a rebel (granted, several of the places they went should have had security cameras, but the Federation was always incredibly cheap about those when the plot required it). If she hadn't been connected with them and if Servalan wasn't the one in charge of the trap (or if Servalan really did only have eyes for Avon on those times they met), then what do you have? I mean, she's a native of Gauda Prime whose family was killed by the kind of creeps they are now hiring bounty hunters to clear out. With her history as a hired gun, it would be perfectly reasonable for her to come home and get a little revenge for profit. She was, after all, at some kind of bounty hunter base. Even if they have video of her coming in with Avon and the others, she might be able to say she had hooked up with them to lure them into a bounty hunter base only things got crazy - the base seemed to already be under the control of that terrorist, Roj Blake. Then the shooting started. No, no, she didn't shoot because she wasn't sure what side anyone was on. It wasn't because she was afraid that Blake guy was about to steal her bounty so she just waited till Avon had gotten rid of him. We just didn't see the whole thing - Zen-cam (otherwise known as "the director wants to speed up the action not shove in a whole lot of exposition unnecessary to this week's ep") cut it out. After all, we didn't see Avon planning that little revenge plan to Earth until we're almost on top of it (Children) either, nor the putting together and diplomatic wrangling that led to the Warlord plan. Blake seems focused on bringing the Federation down. He doesn't seem to be giving much thought to the future form of the govenment in case he succeeds. Marian
