So if you had John Gummer, John Smith etc as respective godfathers you would have several Johns in the family. It's still amusing though, that a set of stories about a character who puts stock in the fine details has so many blatant errors - Mrs. Watson addressing her husband by the wrong name, three Moriarty brothers all named James, Inspector Lestrade and his boat cannon....

Vila and Bilbo

So, if Vila's Bilbo, does that make Gan Gandalf? Compare - Gan dies in an enemy stronghold (although not the BIG enemy stronghold) while helping the others escape while they are being pursued by hordes of evil bad guys. Other than that, it wouldn't surprise me to learn Gan enjoyed smoking. I guess this suggests whoever put the limiter in him was Saruman. It seems that the chronology was a bit messed up. While I suppose I just forgot Travis screaming, "Precious!" as he fell down the conveniently located pit, Boromir/Faramir (Tarrant) hadn't even shown up yet. I suppose Soolin's real name is Eowyn and that she has a brother alive somewhere. With her bow, Dayna seems more like Legolas. OTOH, she has a lot in common with Thrain out for revenge in Moria. Maybe she wandered in from the Appendix? Since Auronar are evidently some type of elf, I suppose that makes Cally Arwen unless she's Galadriel (the Thaarn was sort of a dwarf who fell in love with her, after all). Avon is Aragorn (I suppose he has the coloring for it). Blake is either Frodo (which makes Deva Sam) or, getting a bit too much of a negative view of everything that helps lead to his destruction, he's Denethor. I think this makes Orac a palantir.
