Arne and me just added a perfmap-writing feature to 8.1. As this is somewhat more useful when the perfmap somehow gets updated when new programs are compiled, we're looking to have a hook that receives freshly compiled programs.

One go at it can be found in the branch tobij/compile_events. Should we structure this a bit more in a generic way, or anything else we should know?
