Process.run

I just checked in a Process.run() in 7.7: http://pike.ida.liu.se/development/cvs/diff.xml?module=Pike&file=7.7/lib/mo… The rational for that is that I was once again reminded by a user this week that getting Process.create_process() or Process.Process right without some corner case blocking is hard. It's not obvious that if you bind pipes to booth stderr and stdout you have to take in to account that OS buffers are not limetless. Process.run() is a thin wrapper around Process.Process that collects stdout, stderr and exitcode and return them in a mapping. This could potentially result in huge strings, but will do what most users want and even already do when they call create_process() with both pipes bound. Something like this should be in 7.8, but I'm open to suggestions for other things that might be usefull to return in the mapping or for changing member names.

That's a standard bug in the GLUE module I thought was fixed. :-) It's not possible to do glGet until GL is initialized on most platforms.

I was in the process of building some packages, and thought I'd run the testsuite. bundles and solaris/x86

Are bundles broken in the latest 7.6 release? I wasn't able to build pike on a brand new installation without first installing nettle and gmp. The bundles seem to be present, and are untarred, but don't seem to be used. Everything worked fine after I built and installed them. Also, I packaged up the latest release for Solaris 10/intel. All of the usual features included from the standard install plus the companion software disc. I'm uploading it to: http://hww3.riverweb.com/dist/pike if someone wants to take them and put them on the main download site. Bill

sqllite and building pike

I'm trying to compile pike7.7 Although after configure I get: SQLite.............. no (dependencies failed) Still during make process the process fails on sqllite. Shouldn't the makefile not be created if configure fails? Kind regards, marc

CMOD compilation

If I understand the code in precompile.pike correctly, all declarations, such as program placeholders and macros relating to the classes in a CMOD-file, should be placed at the location of the "DECLARATIONS" keyword. Is this correct? If this is the way it is supposed to work, it seems broken too me in 7.7 from CVS.

install instructions?

hi, i just noticed that there are no installation instructions on the website. a guy in #pike just wondered what those files without extensions are about. there is no indication that they are selfextracting tar files that need to be executed. greetings, martin.

Set some bits in the nt-tools repository

Could someone with sufficient access on Pelix please do chmod a+x on Pike/nt-tools/tools/cp.pike,v and Pike/nt-tools/tools/mv.pike,v in the cvs repository? It's impossible to accomplish through cvs if one missed to set them right away when the files were added.
