My CPU is an Athlon XP. My old 7.5.1 works, installed 02-12-30 compiled with gcc 3.2.0 (I think).

On the other hand signal 9 is SIGKILL, so it might be that some other process kills it due to eg using too much memory.

Since a while back, I've had some trouble compiling Pike. (It started a few months back I belive, while using 7.3 branch.) When using GCC 2.95.3 20010315 (release) peep.c fails to compile. During the compilation of that file, the compiler dies due to signal 9: precompile: pike /home/agehall/Pike/7.5/bin/mkpeep.pike /home/agehall/Pike/7.5/src/peep.in (method=QQQQQQ) Compiling /home/agehall/Pike/7.5/src/peep.c gcc: Internal compiler error: program cc1 got fatal signal 9 WARNING: Compiler failure! Trying without optimization! {standard input}: Assembler messages: {standard input}:1564: Warning: end of file not at end of a line; newline inserted {standard input}:2692: Warning: .stabs: Missing comma cc1: warning: -Wuninitialized is not supported without -O When the compilers tries without optimization it compiles just fine. I've done some testing of my memory and found no errors so far and thus I wonder if this problem is due to some bug in my GCC.

New win32 builds

Just posted on the list: A Pike distribution for windows can now be downloaded from ftp://pike.ida.liu.se/pub/pike/all/7.4.10. It includes GTK support but several other modules with external dependencies are broken. Most noteworthy the Gz module. During the three days Per Hedbor and I spent bring the win32 build up to full speed with the Unix build we have fixed a beta build from CVS though. It has working Gz, GTK, SDL, OpenGL and Freetype: ftp://pike.ida.liu.se/pub/pike/beta/7.4.11-20030101 Enjoy! NB: The builds are tested on several XP machines, but we didn't have time or energy to set up test environments for other win32 versions.
