I don't think we've ever changed the API between x.even.y, but it of course happens in e.g. Pike 7.7.

And ideally the ABI shouldn't change either between such versions.

We tend to add APIs though. So forward compatibility is supposed to be guarateed, but not backwards compatibility even between builds.
