marek has resigned from being a debian maintainer. which means that among other things the pike packages need a new maintainer.
i remember mentioning that someone among the developers became a debian maintainer some time ago and would be interested in maintaining pike packages.

I guess Marek's interrest now points somewhere else. I feel a bit sad, but i hope he'll continue to have fun and do a good job on some other projects.

As a Debian user, i'll be happy to help the new maintainer, if needed.

as far as i could tell at my last visit to marek a few weeks ago, he is still interested in pike. he is just not somuch interested in debian anymore (he still uses debian and ubuntu).
i can't blame him, as a programmer i have no interest in maintaining a linux distribution either.
and like many here he does not have an opportunity to use pike in his day job...

I've talked to Marek, and he will help mentor me until I've got a handle on it.
As a sysadmin I have to maintain some sort of package for Debian machines any way. It's part of my job description.
