On behalf of the Pike development team, it's my pleasure to announce the immediate availability of Pike 7.8.700, the latest stable Pike release.
Source code*, along with binaries for Mac OSX, Windows and various *nix platforms may be downloaded from the following address:
http://pike.ida.liu.se/download/pub/pike/latest-stable/
The release notes for 7.8.700 are rather lengthy, so rather than including them in this message, I'll simply include a link to them:
https://raw.github.com/pikelang/Pike/7.8/CHANGES
Feel free to spread the word… and as always, comments, suggestions (and bug reports) are welcome!
Best,
Bill Welliver bill@welliver.org
* Users compiling Pike 7.8 from source code should be aware that gcc 4.0 and higher are incompatible with Pike's "machine code" mode. Attempting to build under these conditions can cause errors and segfaults. A work around for this situation is to compile using the following configuration option: 'make CONFIGUREARGS="--without-machine-code"'.
