it appears that the official 7.6.6 source distribution does not really contain nettle. wouldn't it be time for a new release with this stuff fixed, would be nice together with the upcoming windows binaries.

There is a "Pike-v7.6.6-2.tar.gz" which includes nettle. But yes, it is indeed time for a new release (although not for this specific reason).
