I just updated from CVS 7.7 and precompile seems to work now. I've not tested the function yet, but will shortly.
Seems there were a few bugs left... They ought to be fixed now.

Xenofarm is red and I can't compile sybase anymore.

The color of Xenofarm should be fixed by the fix from 13062701. As far as I can see, pelix is busy building a new dist right now.
What problems do you have with sybase?

HAVE_SYBASE is set even though there is no sybase on the system.
