Hey list,
Caudium 1.4 release plan Pike interface redesign (security) License change (code rewrite vs RIS grant vs separation of core) CIF rewrite RXML parser
... and RXML future
Martin's Stale code from his previous job ecommerce and other projects State of CAMAS/1.2/1.3 release Caudium module repository / website Plans for 2.0+ i18n /l10n Licensing policy Organization/management of the effort Marketing / popularity enhancement Hack sessions Bug Squash Sessions Pike module repository ala CPAN Pike module build system (problems, etc) Pike Namespace management
Seems everyting's there. Will we have enough time to discuss all that? :)
How should we organize to present/discuss this stuff?
I can give a "Current state of Pike" talk. What's the status of IDA-coordinated systems. What's the status of Pike 7.5 and what is the roadmap for 7.6. What has been done since the last conference. A natural adjacent discussion is how all of these can be improved in near future (better development tools, more development invovement, roadmap discussion etc.)

Any chance the speaches will be recorded (preferable video, but audio would do just fine) and uploaded on the Pike site?
Would be great for us who can't come.

None whatsoever. (At least we'll retain that position until after the conference...)

Well, I wasn't suggesting it would be uploaded during the conference. After it would be just great.

If the speaches aren't recorded, it would be rather difficult to upload them, even if it's after the conference.

Of course, but it can't be that difficult te get hold of a simple recorder?!
I remember using just a small "pocketmemory", those with the micro tapes, to record the speaches at the Amiga Show in Cologne some years ago. The quality was good enough to then convert it to mp3 and have it on the AmigaInfo CD.
But of course if you can hook in the recorder to the PA system it would be much better.

So, are you volonteering to get hold of a simple recorder and do the recording? If not, your thoughs on how difficult or not it is aren't really helpful.

Yes, so I'm not going to let it be spoiled by your "how hard can it be" type whines. If someone wants to record it someone will record it. Otherwise nobody will record it. Until somebody steps forward and says they are going to do it, the latter case will be the official word.

I can manage to bring iTeam's webcam that can record sound if this can help.
This is a philips webcam that _should_ work on my MacOS X laptop (not tested).
I suppose someone else will bring a laptop, if yes, then the instructions for running that under linux are there: http://www.smcc.demon.nl/webcam/

While reading the FAQ, it seems it require a standard sound driver for the microphone. So it should work on may laptop and on any Linux box with USB audio compiled in.
I can manage to bring iTeam's webcam that can record sound if this can help.
That would be great. I look forward to be able to listen to the speaches.

Is there really no one that owns a video camera? Put it up, press record => voila. Amazing new technology available today.

Why would anyone want a video camera? It's as fun as a baking machine. Use it twice and then store it somewhere.
