hi,
for anyone compiling from exported source, is make install_interactive; the recommended way to build and install pike?
if so, i guess that should be added to the README? it seems a bit odd to refer users to README-CVS to find out how to install pike after running make.
greetings, martin.
make install is the recommended way. I've never used install_interactive.
ok, but make install_interactive is the one command that does everything without needing extrahints to install things in a different location.
iaw you can use make install_interactive without refering to README-CVS, where as make install needs README-CVS if you want to change the defaults.
will add both and more cosmetics, adjust to taste...
greetings, martin.
If you want to install things somewhere else you tell configure. But documentation is good.
