That could be interesting. How hard it'd be depends on how well its runtime matches pike behavior. How does it compare to the Java VM? That has been around longer and should have some good compilers by now.

what about making pike optionally produce CIL (Common Intermediate Language) which can then be run/compiled with the tools from the mono project? (go-mono.com) their JIT is quite good, AFAIK.
