Roxen CMS was capable of a rather friendly subset of XPath (including, IIRC, mostly everything except document()
Your memory is not correct. There is no XPath engine in SloppyDOM, just simple step patterns, node tests and a few predicates. There are no variables, expressions, functions or data types at all.
