if you drop pikes runtime, most of its power will be lost.

well, my initial proposal/idea was, that CIL code could be produces _optionally_, for example to distribute compiled versions of pike programs.

i do not insist on such CIL interface, also compiled/precompiled pike would be fine, and it should be embeddeable.

i also naively imagined mono and pike developers which, by all means, are both skilled pretty good, pull on the same stings as a side effect.
