Yes, the security system I never got around understanding. I don't use it right now (for obvious reasons), but could someone explain the fundamentals behind that?

The main problem with Pike and muds is the somewhat underdeveloped (or at least underdocumented) security system, if it's planned to have programmers with limited access in the system.

Pike has its history in LPC, but isn't written to be a MUD language. LPC4, a precursor to µLPC (later renamed to Pike), started a mud when you have it no other parameters. However LPC4 was derived from LPC rather than written from scratch.
This is not saying that Pike isn't suitable for MUDs - it might very well be. It's just not written for it. Also to the best of my knowledge there are no other MUDs written in Pike.
