xavier: what made your mirror stop working?
FTP Passive is NOT working on pike ftp server. This is not a problem about my ftp client firewall or whatever.
yes, but the passive ftp problem has been there for more than two months. so something changed on your side too.
I have changed nothing... I has been working and suddenly stopped to work....
I have temporaly fixed that by : 02500 29 1392 allow tcp from 130.236.182.30 to me setup in my ipfw configuration, but I *don't* like to have a naked machine on the net trusted a server I don't adminstrate...
is that what you have been doing to get your mirror to work up until two months ago?
No I just done it today.
- make passive FTP working (simple just configure a range of passive
ports in IDA's firewall)
this may not even be possible, given that IDA is a university institute. universities are not known to be very forthcoming when it comes to changing policy. worse, it may even be the main university firewall doing the blocking.
So FTP has to change place... or just give pike accessed by http. FTP without passive environent is just unusable because lots of people on the net are behind NATed or Firewalls...
or
- make ftp archive from IDA that can be accessible by rsync...
that would be usefull. for any other mirrors too.
Yeah I agree...
