Actually, isn't it best to use native eol style for all text files, unless there's a specific reason not to? That way situations like the one with the COM files are less likely to occur in the first place.
Well, that's my basic standpoint as well. That's why currently all text files do have native eol style. What I'm currently looking for are those "specific reasons not to". :-)
Should I count you as one vote for normalizing the old Unicode database files as well, then?
