I'm trying to become a debian developer but it's a slow process. I'd like to set up a team to maintain the packages (both pike and caudium in this situation, when beeing un-maintained), to it dont has to be neglected as they has latly.
Anybody want to be part of that? We'll need atleast one dd to setup a team the rest need not to bee dd:s.
I'd say that we should make 7.6.112 availabe for stable somehow thou.

the first thing (after adopting the packages) is to get updates into debian unstable.
backports to stable (on backports.org) are not very likely to happen, because programming languages are generally not backported (as that could potentially break all the applications using that language)).
backports offered for download from the pike site are of course possible and would be very nice to have, but as these were not generally offered before, i don't think there is an urgent need for that right now.
making sure that the packages in debian have a maintainer, seems more important to me.
apart from core pike itself, there are also the modules from gotpike.org, some of them are already in debian (and waiting for a maintainer now), the rest would also be nice to have. (caudium packages also need a maintainer, if anyone is keen, btw)
