true, but that case should be particularely easy, probably by not needing to specify which script is to be started.
does the ability to fork without using fork() in order to send a process into the background fit in here, or is the suggested commandline option (like pike --detach) a better solution?
it could just as well change any argument in the array.
does it make sense to allow changing individual arguments? (except argv[0])
