And then I thought there can't be a whole lot of alternatives to do it traditionally with a cp -a in cvs, so that the xenofarm stuff and everything else on pelix keep chugging along.
It seems that the only way to get "the xenofarm stuff and everything else" to ever get to work with anything else than CVS, is to do the switch regardless. Just announcing the plan, providing an example converted repository, and waiting for several years, apparently doesn't work.
Afterall, the mess can be sorted out afterwards in the exports to svn and git. It has been done before.
