The nettle patches are only related to a peripheral stuff like docs and test programs, right?
Yes.
I've built nettle 1.15 separately for our internal purposes without any patches and I'm not aware of any incompatibilties.
Not incompatibilities, just build problems in some environments. See bundles/patches.
