I thought the argument was that you MIGHT want to use it directly. Of course, name it _Crypto_Nettle.so (to keep with the Image module naming scheme) and then having most functionality in Crypto with the rest in Crypto.Nettle might be a better idea.

Since you're not supposed to use _Nettle directly, giving it a name you don't like is a feature. :-) The thing you're supposed to used should be named Crypto and/or Crypto.Nettle or suchlike.
