I actually learned today that Debian 10 "Buster" apparently has a GCC so new that compiling 8.0.702 won't quite work as 45009af643dbece75d3ee615046b25e76a5438e8 missed being included in 8.0.702 by nine days :). Probably a good enough reason to produce a release some time soon...
