The dumping before the doc target is intentional since it uses the build tree pike, and several times too (or at least it did). This system has worked and still works well for me; it automatically manages most cases where they can become invalid.

I seems that running 'make documentation' triggers the dumping, a rather unfortunate side effect. Besides, what's the use of running Pike faster when it doesn't work proplerly?
