Users compiling Pike 7.8 from source code should be aware that gcc 4.0 and higher are incompatible with Pike's "machine code" mode.
4.0 and higher are incompatible with Pike's "machine code" mode.
It works fine for me with gcc 4.3 and 4.6. Are you sure this isn't specific to some particular architecture?
