Just like that works fine. If you prefer, use URL:http://... instead (but it will probably not make more clients able to render clickable links; those who support links already find your URLs).

that's because linux-threads suck. The kernel implements the appropriate stuff on the clone() level. Linux 2.6 is likely to use something else than linux-threads - http://oss.software.ibm.com/developerworks/opensource/pthreads/
(btw, how do I make the URI clickable by recipients on lyskom? :)
