Windows build take 3

I've gotten Pike to compile nominally under Windows using the Visual C++ toolkit. The problem I'm dealing with now is that some of the dynamic modules fail to load: C:/msys/1.0/home/e10401/pike-7.7.21/build/mingw32_nt-5.1-1.0.10_0.46_3_2_-i686/lib/modules/Gmp.so:-: Warning: Failed to load library: Symbol '_hook_in_int64_funcs' not found. I compiled with DLDEBUG and DLVERBOSE, and that output is here: http://hww3.riverweb.com/dist/pikeWinBuildLoadError.txt >From what I can tell, hook_in_int64_funcs is defined in the pike binary. Any suggestions? Bill

accessing PIKE_MODULE_INIT{} in a CMOD?

I have a couple modules that are just plain CMODs, with no pike stub at all. Is there a way to put a couple of add_string_constant() calls into the PIKE_MODULE_INIT{} section that is generated from a CMOD? I tried just making an INIT{} section in the module outside of the classes, but that didn't work. Adam

I suggest that the portability functions be renamed from uppercase to lowercase with p_ prefixed. E.g. MEMSET would be p_memset. It would make it easier to identify where things came from.

In 7.7 Makefile checks for "some-sprsh-test" before running the tests with sprsh. This is a change since 7.6 and I can not find the place where that file is supposed to be created. Is there something I'm missing, because right now the tests dies at once because it tries to run the win32 binary on the configure host?

Protocols.SNMP.protocol()->readmsg hanging

Protocols.SNMP.protocol()->readmsg waits forever trying to read from the socket. The problem is you can send out a request on a lossy link, then try to readmsg() it, and never get an answer, hanging your script. I've attached a tiny patch to add an optional int|void timeout to readmsg(). Adam

MinGW non-action

--without-bignums doesn't seem to work.

make CONFIGUREARGS="--without-bundles --without-bignums" stops with: Bundles not available. configure: error: Cannot compile --with-bignums without the GMP library It is highly recommended that you install a working GMP library on your system as that will add features to Pike required by many applications. Getting rid of .column_name in postgresql

Postgres doesn't return the table name when you make a query, so right now where mysql would give you a mapping containing both "column" and "table.column", postgres gives you "column" and ".column" for no reason. Looking at the code, it appears as though this is intentional? Is there any objection to getting rid of the .column, something like the attached patch? Adam

windows build take 2

I'm having another go at building Pike on the windows platform. This time, I'm using msys plus rntcl to run the microsoft command line compiler. It's actually working out pretty well; I have all of the modules compiling, and there are only one or two minor problems there. I'm into the main pike code now, and I've run into two problems: 1. the definition of do_pike_exit in main.h causes problems because the its declspec is different from that defined in pike_embed.h (from what I can tell.
