I have successfully built Pike on cygwin. There are currently a few issues you have to get around. Pike doesn't support cygwin paths. If /cygdrive/x/foo gets handed to a file function it should instead use x:/foo (well, x:\foo). Could this be fixed in fdlib? Stdio.Terminfo can not decode the cygwin terminfo file. sizeof(strbuf)==sstr-2. mt_lock( &aap_timeout_mutex ); in HTTPLoop/accept_and_parse.c triggers some sort of thread bug during startup. Just build without HTTPLoop.

threads.c:65: Fatal error

What's the purpose of sscanf %i? It looks very much like %D, but not completely. Shouldn't they be identical?

Flags and libs for pthread support nightmarre on FreeBSD ports

Hello there, I am experencing a nightmarre with FreeBSD ports. They want that pthreads flags and libs to be specified namely to the program it is compiling. I have some patches and tryed some works on CVS but it cannot use the specified flags and libs. So I have 2 choices : - I find a way to specify that (and that's why I am asking that on pike-devel ml) - I give up and I let pike maintainance on freebsd to someone want it... (personaly I still want to use and work with pike so...) So I am asking for help from people that understand well how pike detect and use pthreads to help me to add a couple of flags to automake like : --with-named-thread-lib= --with-named-threds-flags= Notice that current one I have add into 7.5 doesn't honor the libs I specify... /Xavier PS: If it is working, I really like to backport that on 7.4 as well -- Xavier Beaudouin - Unix System Administrator & Projects Leader. make verify hung (randomized pids problem?)

Hi, I installed some kernel patch (grsecurity) which, among other things, has a feature to randomize pids (so never ever child will get a pid which is ppid + 1). Perhaps, this is the reason that during following test (test 10102, line 9153 from 7.4.44 - 7.5 cvs test is on the way): object proc = Process.create_process (({"/bin/sleep", "99999"})); array threads = allocate (10, Thread.thread_create) ( lambda (object proc) {proc->wait();}, proc); sleep (1); proc->kill (9); return threads->wait() - ({-1}); ...the verify process hung... The only reason what I may think of is dependency on PID generation order (this is, actually, only visible change - previously, I compiled and verified pike installation on same computer without any problems, and when I disable randomized PIDs, this test passes quickly). NB: after some time, it fails with: [WATCHDOG] Pike testsuite timeout, sending SIGABRT. Any ideas how to make it independent from PIDs? :) Regards, /Al

GTK detection broken?

Last checkin in 7.4/src/post_modules/GTK/configure.in seem to disable GTK support on a lot of platforms (all?) with "linking failed, erranous installation?".
