For those of you that uses KBabel I noticed that it supports plural forms as of version 1.2beta1. You might want to look at that.

Hurray! ;)
Please update the individual translations.
I am trying to do it, but I've got a few questions:
#: Mattricks/XMLDataInfo.py:527 msgid "Minute of booking" msgstr ""
#: Mattricks/XMLDataInfo.py:536 msgid "Actiontype" msgstr ""
#: Mattricks/XMLDataInfo.py:553 msgid "Event minute" msgstr ""
#: Mattricks/XMLDataInfo.py:554 msgid "Event key" msgstr ""
Where are you using those messages? I can't find them :/
There are more of them, but it isn't necesarry to paste it here at least now.

It is mentioned in the comment, i.e. XMLDataInfo.py on line 527, etc. They are probably never used within the program though. I have thought about removing all the descriptions from XMLDataInfo, but I keep thinking that they might be used some day. You could skip those messages if you want (but some of them *could* be used, so it's your decision).

Maybe it would be a good idea to keep them, but remove the translation of the ones that are not used. There are quite a few of them, and, as you say very few are used now and many might never be used.

Yes, to just remove the descriptions of those things that definitely never will be used (like "Event Key"). It is possible (within my "specification") to use None instead of a string there. All that has descriptions should be translated though. Also, most of the descriptions doesn't say anything else than the path itself like "Team.TeamID": _("Team id"), etc.
In the player xml, I think it is a good chance that the descriptions might be used.

Ok, I've just translated all of them. We will see how good are these translations when you will use it ;)
Ok, so now maybe some criticism ;)
1) "players" command doesn't work
(fenio@domek)~/Mattricks$./mattricks.py players Traceback (most recent call last): File "./mattricks.py", line 36, in ? Init.start() File "/home/fenio/Mattricks/Mattricks/Init.py", line 57, in start Commandline.parse_and_start() File "/home/fenio/Mattricks/Mattricks/Commandline.py", line 105, in parse_and_start all_commands[command](args, help_command) File "/home/fenio/Mattricks/Mattricks/Commandline.py", line 480, in parse_cmd_players sys.stdout.write(_("%s is not a valid season.") % a + " undLocalError: local variable 'a' referenced before assignment (fenio@domek)~/Mattricks$
2) command "listchanges" shows untranslated names of filters
(fenio@domek)~/Mattricks$./mattricks.py listchanges Nieprawidłowa lista plików hrf.
Sposób użycia: ./mattricks.py listchanges [opcje] pierwszy_hrf drugi_hrf
Opcje:
-f LISTA --filter=LISTA Rozdzielona przecinkami lista filtrów.
Filtry: arena, league, basics, player_attr, club, player_eval, player, team, player_value, lineup, player_rating, economy (fenio@domek)~/Mattricks$
As you can see "arena, league..." aren't Polish words. I suppose that it won't be an easy task to properly parse foreign words as parameters, but maybe I am wrong? ;)
3) Preferences -> Match Viewer.
Strings "larger report panel", "equal sizes" and "larger event panel" aren't translated, even if they are properly translated in mattricks.mo file.
4) Do you know what should I translate to get Polish strings in "File choosing dialog" ? Is it Python's issue or wxWindows or Mattricks? ;) I'll be grateful for some hints about that.
5) You should add some "about" button. I couldn't find my name at whole Mattricks ;)))
6) Great job, keep going ;)

You have to supply team id, league id and season id, see the help for players. This is maybe not so convenient, so I guess that you may want left out parameters to have default values.
- command "listchanges" shows untranslated names of filters
Well, it shows the internal names of the filters, which are different than the translated names (which are the ones next to the checkboxes on the change page). Maybe it should look like:
Filtry: arena - Explanation of filter (the translated text next to the checkbox) league - ...
Preferences -> Match Viewer.

Strange, are all other strings in the Preferences dialog translated?

I believe that it is a wxWindows issue, although I do not know if it can be solved (easily).

Check the file AUTHORS. Adding it into the actual program may be up for discussion. I think the current way follows the GPL tradition.

We will! You too! :-)

I'm going to add new defaults so that if you don't specify anything, you get your team, this season. In the same run, Ill remove the reference to "a" since it doesn't exist in that context.

This is an issue for Kent to solve, since he wrote the function.

Yes, it isn't the best solution there, but sufficient for the time being imho.
Preferences -> Match Viewer.

That's not very strange. You have only made N_() around "larger event panel", but it will (later) try to translate the whole thing, i.e. "1:2 (larger event panel)". That phrase don't exist in the translation database and won't get translated. I don't think there are any other (easy) solution to the problem than to have the whole phrase be surrounded by N_().

Yes, the file dialog and dir dialog is wxWindows (or perhaps wxPython, I don't know there). I don't know how to get them translated.

I believe a lot of Gnome programs have the AUTHORS file inside a scrolling window in an about dialog. This isn't for this version anyhow.

So it should definitelly uses some default values. Or at least it should tell me about providing some values instead not working at all ;)

It would be some resolution.

Yep... I don't know why only these three strings aren't translated :/

Hmm, I've just checked if wxWindows has Polish translations and it seems that it has them, so I don't know why it doesn't use it :/ I have to write on some wxWindows mailing list with that ;)

Many GPL-ed projects add this info in program too ;)
