Hi all,
I'd like to see a new feature in Mattricks, it should work as follows: In the lineup selection tab, in version 0.6 when clicking the button to create the lineup it considers all the players available. However, this is not what I always want. Sometimes I don't want a player to play even if it is very good. I'd like to have a way to select the players the lineup selection tool uses to calculate the best formation.
Cheers,
Yes, there are many features to be added to the lineup tool. Eventually they will get there, if someone finds it interresting to implement.
Would it be enough to have a list with checkboxes to mark players that you do not want to play?

Would be great if that list will has info when player played last match. This would simplify choosing line-up for sparings with players that didn't played in league ;)

It's been a busy night developing, so there are some new things to test. Most notably, the things above and that all previous matches now can be imported.

Yes, with an inverter button, so you can pick the best team, then invert the selection and re-pick from the bench-warmers instead.

So the inverter button would be like "Do not use players in the selected team below"?
Yes, something like that. I don't necessarily want Mattricks to emulate other player-picking programs, but having a program that picks out the players that play the _least_ is actually quite nifty in regard of all the friendlies on wedneysdays.
On the other hand, if you have a true inverter button, you could easily pick out a couple you DONT want to play and then invert your selection and have it select from the rest. (for instance, don't play with the coach even if he's good =)
I have more than 22 players right now, and would like to make 22 of them play each week, which means I can have Mattricks get me the best team for weekends and then I get to select manually in the friendlies anyhow. 8-(
Ideally, there would be a select box for each player, then a couple of buttons: * Mark/Unmark all players * Invert All * Unmark selected players <- those who currently are picked out to play
..and then every time I go "select best team" it would do so from the list of marked players. Default would obviously be to have all players marked to keep the program behaviour as it is now.
This would mean (for me) that selecting the wednesday team would involve: 1. Mark all 2. Select best team 3. Unmark selected players 4. Select best team
Weekend matches would only involve step #2, but you could still do all fancy tricks manually if you like to unselect a single player and so on.
Was that clearer? =)

Yes! Especially in the sense that it became clear that you are using 0.6.
In the current cvs-version there is a listcheckbox (a list where each row (player) has a check box), where checking a player means that he is NOT going to be picked for the team. There is also a button "Mark players who played the previous game" and a "Clear all" button. My question was really if you would like another button saying "Mark players that is in the currently selected team", but as I understand it you mainly want to avoid playing with the same players both in the league and in the friendly.
So what do you think of this?
An inversion button would be easy to add as well as the extra button mentioned above, but I'm wondering if they make sense.

Which mean I should go in the corner and be ashamed for a while. I will upgrade and return to you on any further wants or needs AFTER I actually try the best available version. Sorry for sucking attention from other parts of the project.

Considering that many people do not run from the CVS source and the delay for the next release to arrive (although it is very close now!), I don't really mind discussions that might turn out to be outdated. It's better to have some input, than none at all.
