I got a strange error when I start Mattricks 0.6 (.deb installed):
/home/niels$ mattricks.py Traceback (most recent call last):
...and that's ist, nothing more.
When I use the sources instead, I got this error:

A guess would be that the german translation is incorrect. Looking at the de.po it turns out that the last line
#line 3071 msgid "%d week" 3072 msgid_plural "%d weeks" 3073 msgstr[0] "%d Woche" 3074 msgstr[1] ""
should read
msgstr[1] "%d Wochen" (if week in plrual is Wochen).
You can edit this file yourself and then run
msgfmt -o locale/de/LC_MESSAGES/mattricks.mo po/de.po
standing in
/home/niels/Mattricks

Now mattrick.py started, asked for HT login name and password, downloaded both 'team details' and 'data for all players' and then exited with:

It runed out that the translation was a bit messed up. After generating a new file, some of the old translations were in incorrect format.
Download the updated file:
http://cvs.lysator.liu.se/viewcvs/viewcvs.cgi/*checkout*/Mattricks/po/de.po?...
and run the msgfmt command again.
There are some really crappy translations as the software takes guesses based on similar words (and I also filled in a few), but you'll have to live with that.
poEdit or Kbabel are otherwise recommended tools for translating. :-)
I would otherwise recommend downloading the current CVS-tarball as quite some things have improved (although you may also run in to new problems).
