In case you guys haven't heard of the Swedish band called The Radio Dept.
I just wanted to send out a tip, this is something you guys should hear.
Pics and 2 music/video clips from the performance in Linkoping 29/5 2004,
recorded and pics taken by yours truly:
There's a song called "Keen On Boys" that reminds me so much of Slowdive
it's almost scary,
and another called "Wht Won't You Talk About It" that's SO beautiful, and a
bit of a mix between Slowdive and My Bloody Valentine.
Hope everyone is doing okay on the list even though I'm still pretty much
absent. Not for long though. Big things on the way... :P
// Erik --- List owner, absent, but still here.
ok so i'm listening to it right now...i just got it earlier tonight.
i've gotten to the most slowdive sounding song. but it's got
enough non-slowdive touches for it to be it's own thing. there's
a lot of moj3 vibe on this but sometimes almost more than i'd
want but then i tried to listen to this without any expectations.
i've wished for YEARS and YEARS that she would have a solo
album so this is a longtime dream come true in a way.
the singing is wonderful of course. it's like being in love with
shrimp and living in a city where shrimp comes thru once every
few months. then all of a sudden you hit a shrimp buffet... weird
but i hope that makes sense of it. the harmonies are luscious.
and the vocals are recorded very up-front. probably some nice
super-expensive condenser mics but who knows....
now i hopefully can look forward to solo rachel live.
p.s. i just heard a chord change from "so tired" on track 9
i agree with all those discoveries.
god bless soulseek.
dykehouse i don't know however... but it's in good company so i'm checking
my username is: cocteautwin
feel free to browse the collection.
