This seems too much of a coincidence......
For several days I have been having difficulty booting into 2.6.7
because the boot stalled on "starting cupsd....." (I thought it might be
a kernel issue, hotplug issue, cups issue, etc)
It always worked first time with 2.6.6 kernel. However when I rebooted
or shutdown it stalled at:
uhci-hcd 0000:00:7.2: remove, state1
usb usb1: USB disconnect, address 1
After my last email I realised I had been trying to boot with the device
plugged into the usb port.
After I removed it I could once again boot into 2.6.7..... cupsd loaded
perfectly
And it did not stall on reboot/shutdown
Very weird.
A couple of test reboots with the device in the usb port confirmed this
issue.
In summary....
Without the card reader in the usb port, boot works and shutdown works
on both 2.6.6 and 2.6.7.
With it in, 2.6.6 boots, 2.6.7 stalls on cupsd and both stall on shutdown
Is this related to the kernel, cupsd, usbat driver, usb issues...?
Or am I raving and need a new tetanus shot :)
If it might help point me at some logs I might be able to send...
